Outside our scheduled holidays, Y Clwyd (“The Roost”) is available to rent on an exclusive, self-catering basis.
There are many excellent local birding sites, where Grey Seals, Bottle-nosed Dolphins and Porpoises may also be seen, or you can watch the many species to be found around Y Clwyd itself, including indigenous Welsh Red Kites flying overhead. For the more adventurous, Y Clwyd is centrally located for access to the woodlands and valleys of Mid Wales (summer warblers and Red Kites), Strumble Head (sea-watching), the Pembroke Islands (breeding seabirds) and the Dyfi Estuary (autumn waders, terns and shearwaters).
There are a number of pubs, restaurants and “take-aways” within easy car reach, a small, garage-based supermarket 1½ miles away and larger shops and supermarkets within a 15 minute drive. A few basic provisions such as milk, bread, eggs, cereals, tea, coffee and sugar are supplied for your arrival.
ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation at Y Clwyd comprises:
Ground Floor - lounge, dining room, kitchen (with fridge, cooker and microwave), one double bedroom with bath, two small single bedrooms with shower and one single bedroom with bath.
First Floor - one double bedroom with bath and one twin bedroom with shower.
BIRDING GUIDE
The services of Graham Walker as a birding/natural history guide are also available by arrangement. Days or weeks can be tailored specifically for you – just tell us what you would like to see or where you would like to visit and if it occurs in West or Mid Wales we will do our best to show it to you. Or just leave it to us and we will try to show you the biggest variety of birds and wildlife in the area at the time of your visit, without rushing around at high speed!
